According to a new study, undertaken by OM Property Management, in the battle of Geordie vs. Geordie cheeky chaps Ant and Dec have fallen from favour with the locals. 

The study found that despite the duo scooping the Entertainment and Presenter award at the National Television Awards for the 11^th year in a row, the “nation’s sweetheart”, Cheryl Cole, is the celebrity most people in the North East would like to live next to.

Close behind the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here presenters were glamorous chef Nigella Lawson and Take That heartthrob and X-Factor judge Gary Barlow.

However, Prime Minister David Cameron and reality TV star Katie Price were the two least favoured celebrities (1%).

Cole’s loyalty to the North East makes her a clear winner when it comes to picking the celebrity most people would like to see over the garden fence."
