Masquerade Ball in aid of the Butterwick Hospice, Teesside

A Masquerade Ball in aid of the Butterwick Hospice in Teesside raised more than £20,000 for funds.

About 200 people enjoyed singing from Susan Robertson, music by Musicians Unlimited, dancing and an auction at the Hardwick Hall Hotel near Sedgefield.

Chief Executive of the Butterwick, Graham Leggatt-Chidgey, said: ‘We are very grateful for the generosity of everyone who supported this year’s event.’

The Butterwick is the largest hospice organisation in the region with 250 staff, with adult facilities in Stockton in Teesside and Bishop Auckland in County Durham and a children’s
hospice in Stockton.

The business of caring

The hospice also hosted a reception for more than 100 representatives from companies all over the region at Wynyard Park, Billingham in an effort to encourage more corporate support of the Butterwick

Chief Executive of the Butterwick, Graham Leggatt-Chidgey, told attendees that it cost more than £10,000 a day to run the hospices and he added: ‘Our corporate partners and supporters are very important to us to help sustain and grow the services the Butterwick provides.’
